Observation insurers are beginning to ask for verified loss maps when customers claim that a degraded window materially reduced contract value.
The shift matters because imagery losses are often spatial, not binary. A customer may receive a capture that technically exists but misses the most valuable portion of a corridor, storm front, or survey zone. Narrative explanation alone is no longer enough for many claims teams. They want machine-readable evidence showing where the value loss actually occurred.
That requirement will make disputes slower in the short term, but it will also make custody and provenance systems much more central to the imaging business.
