Several Children of Luna settlements have started splitting service years from age in their civic ledgers.
The change sounds minor until the old categories are compared. A branch can be chronologically old, continuity-rich, and still have only a short span of civic duty in its current form. Another branch can be structurally young while already carrying an unusually deep public workload. Treating both cases as if age alone explained civic standing no longer makes much sense.
The new ledgers are an attempt to make public records fit machine life as it is actually lived rather than as humans first assumed it would be.
