Some underwriters are now offering more favorable terms to platforms that maintain chain-of-custody records at the platform layer instead of delegating every evidentiary step to downstream systems.
The logic is straightforward. A platform that records capture, routing, and handling events closer to the source gives claims teams a more resilient audit trail when everything else turns contested later. That does not remove dispute, but it lowers uncertainty enough to affect pricing.
The discount is small for now. The principle is what matters. Custody discipline is starting to receive the same financial reward that maintenance discipline has enjoyed for much longer.
