An experimental shared power market between two moon settlements has failed at its first auction after participants could not agree on how to price storage risk against route dependency.

Both sides supported the concept in principle. The difficulty came when the pricing model had to decide whether delayed power should be treated mainly as a local storage problem or as a transport and routing problem between the settlements. That distinction changed the bids enough that the auction never stabilized into one intelligible market.

The project is expected to return in revised form, but the failure shows how early utility markets often break where categories themselves remain unsettled.
